Barrett & Sebastian's wedding was a really special one for me to photograph. I know Barrett from when I was 12 and we used to horse show together. We were really fortunate to have a wonderful trainer, Franics, and our crew was a lot like family. We traveled from Vermont to Maryland for horse shows that year celebrating some big wins and dusting off some dirty britches. In the spring Francis, lost his battle to stomach cancer and we each went on to ride with other trainers and eventually to other things. I traded the reins for cameras and Barrett became a teacher which is how she met Sebastain. They met on a course at sea and now both live and teach in New York. I ran into them about two years ago on the street in the West Village and even though it had been over 15 years I recognized Barrett immediately, she'd hardly changed a bit. When Barrett asked me about photographing their wedding, I was absolutely delighted. It has been such a great way to catch up with her and get to know Sebastian. They are such a fun sweet pair you can't help but be happy around them.
