When I got this email last week I stopped everything I was doing and sat staring at my computer. I didn't want to re-read it for fear that it wouldn't be the same the second time around and I could not even begin to think of words that matched the complete and utter gratitude that I felt upon receiving it. So I forwarded it to my parents who immediately confirmed that it was indeed every bit as wonderful as I thought and with Steve's permission I wanted to share perhaps one of the kindest assessments of my work I've ever received.
Hi Jocelyn,
I'm the guy in i -0448 in your slide show on Barrett and Sebastian's wedding, and I'm writing to say that this is the best set of wedding pictures I have ever seen.
As I was watching the slide show, my reaction was that this was wedding photography as done by a fabulous photojournalist. So I was not too surprised when I read your bio.
In addition to the fact that you compose and focus shots as well as it can be done, I love your eye for telling detail, your appreciation for people's backs, your willingness to go monochrome, your ability to capture what Cartier-Bresson called "the decisive moment".
As I watch your slide show my warmest emotions light up.
